Co-digestion of wastewater sludge with food waste and green cuttings: optimization of methane production

نویسندگان

چکیده

This article outlines our investigation into the methane production of wastewater sludge (WWS) from a treatment plant (WWTP) and mixture WWS with food waste (FW) green cutting (GC). To determine optimal mixture, two potential experiments were performed using Automatic Methane Potential Test System (AMPTS II). In first experiment, FW used. The highest was measured in FW, lowest WWS. combination both substrates did not approach (241.5 ± 15.7 mL CH4/g VS). second we combined GC. obtained at 5.1% addition GC to (relative organic load). 7.5% higher than WWS, which 470 17 VS. We calculated simplex lattice design method. experiment one, model had relatively good fit values, however differences significant.

Kinetics of carbon dioxide, methane and hydrolysis in co-digestion of food and vegetable wastes

Kinetic models which can express the behaviors of hydrolysis and biogas generation more precisely than the conventional models were developed. The developed models were evaluated based on the experimental data of six batch reactors. Anaerobic digestion test was co-digestion of food and vegetable waste with inoculating horse dung by 15% of the total wet weight, at the temperature of 37o</su...

Pilot-scale anaerobic co-digestion of municipal wastewater sludge with restaurant grease trap waste.

The maximum feasible loading rate of grease trap waste (GTW) to the municipal wastewater sludge (MWS) was investigated using two 1300 L pilot-scale (1200 L active volume) digesters under mesophilic conditions at a 20 day solids retention time. During the co-digestion, the test reactor received a mixture of GTW and MWS while the control reactor received only MWS. The test digester loading was in...

Anaerobic co-digestion of algal sludge and waste paper to produce methane.

The unbalanced nutrients of algal sludge (low C/N ratio) were regarded as an important limitation factor to anaerobic digestion process. Adding high carbon content of waste paper in algal sludge feedstock to have a balanced C/N ratio was undertaken in this study. The results showed adding 50% (based on volatile solid) of waste paper in algal sludge feedstock increased the methane production rat...

Theoretical methane production generated by the co-digestion of organic fraction municipal solid waste and biological sludge

The co-digestion of two problematic and available wastes, namely Organic Fraction Municipal Solid Waste (OFMSW) and biological sludge, was carried out in this work. Biochemical Methane Potential (BMP) tests are a useful tool for determining the best substrate and co-digestion configurations, however there are some methodologies destined to save costs and time from this process by using the theo...
